Review of Chapter 5

In this chapter I'm starting to realize how critical Holden is of everybody. Yeah he's honest, which is a good thing, but he totally puts up a front when he's talking to someone he doesn't really like. I'm sort of starting to think he doesn't mean to be this way. That's just how he is; rude and brutally honest. For example, Holden is always talking bad about Ackley, but when he goes to hang out with Mal, he invites Ackley along. I guess he sort of feels bad. He didn't have to do that.

In class today Erika and I were noticing that when Holden is talking about his brother, Allie, he doesn't cuss. Which made that part more enjoyable to read. I guess that's why he didn't cuss. Because he doesn't want any distractions and because thats him being real. He has nothing but great things to say about him. You can definitely tell he has a soft spot for his brother.
