Conversations about chapter 3

On Wednesday in class, my group read all of chapter three together (Mollee read to us) and we made a lot of realizations about the main character. I said that Holden has a lot on his mind all the time. Mollee and I were noticing that while Holden is talking to Ackley, he is distracted by his appearance or by things around him. He could be having a conversation with someone and be telling us, the reader, something that has nothing to do with his conversation but rather, things he noticed while he was talking
